Wow its been another 2 months since I have updated! Time indeed flies when you are having fun or if you are very busy. Both of the above is true in my case. So here is the update on the McGees and Mission Trinidad.
In July, we had a VBS team from South Carolina come to minister in our Carlsen Field mission station. The team was led by Al and Lisa Gemmen who recently graduated from Columbia International Seminary in Columbia, SC. Al and Lisa brought 11 of their young people from their youth group along with another adult leader. They spent 7 days with our Carlsen Field children and worked 3 days on the LOGOS II mission ship. Al and Lisa did a great job in leading this team and IMHO they are superb leaders. THANKS, AL & LISA FOR A GREAT JOB!
Adanna and the kids left for the US on July 18 to attend the RYS convention in Minneapolis. On August 1st, I received a ministry team of 22 people from Maryland. This team was led by Pastor Jace Broadhurst, who is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary, Orlando, Florida and a PhD candidate at Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia. Jace taught two classes at our Mars Hill Institute (MINTS center). His team taught a VBS in Caroni village. They had about 45 in attendance. This is an amazing attendence since this area is a predominately Hindu area. One of the team members is a nurse and she was able to minister to those who needed health care. This was an excellent VBS team due to their organization and the material that they used (Reachout Bible Adventures). Jace is also a very gifted teacher and an excellent Old Testament scholar. I have invited him to join our MINTS team in the Caribbean. This means he will be writing many of our OT courses in our MINTS format and teaching in our MINTS centers as time permits. This team departed on the 10th of August. However, God used them to open the door for us to begin a weekly Bible study in the Caroni area which, we pray, will lead to a church plant.
On August 8th we had 73 dental students from the MTW and the Medical College of Georgia invade us! They came to provide free dental care to the people of Trinidad. We set up a clinic at the compound of the Aramalaya Presbyterian Church. We bused in patients each day and even had a special day for those who listen to our radio broadcast and the employees of 98.1 radio station. At the end of the week they were able to see over 500 patients. They did check ups, cleaning, root canals and extractions.
On August 15th I left Trinidad for the US to join my family for a much needed vacation. We spent a week in Pittsburgh at Adanna's parents home and then drove to Atlanta. I had a meeting with MTW on Friday and today we worshiped at the First Baptist Church of Atlanta, where Dr. Charles Stanley pastors. Dr. Stanley has had a tremendous impact on my life and the life of my wife and two oldest children. We were members of FBC, ATL during the 80's and it was under the preaching of Dr. Stanley that I was called into the ministry. We were able to see and talk to Dr. Stanley after the service. Hannah, Joshua and Geneva were able to meet him as well. Next week we will be in Orlando and will be able to worship for 2 Lord's Days at St. Andrews Chapel and be under the teaching ministry of Dr. RC Sproul. God used Dr. Sproul to open my eyes to the Reformed Faith and make my transition from Baptist to Presbyterianism.
My schedule for the last part of Semptember - October will be packed with traveling and teaching. I have two classes to finish at our institute in Trinidad when I return. In October I will be in Belize to teach NT Greek in our MINTS center and then on the 15th of October Rev. Dr. Richard Wolfe and I will travel to Grenada to lauch a new MINTS center. At the end of October Dr. Boodhoo from Florida International University will come to Trinidad to teach Church history.
That's it for now. Tomorrow we will travel to Orlando where we will spend the next two weeks with our 2 oldest children and 5 grandchildren! Thanks for all your prayers and God Bless!
Below are some pictures of the past 2 months.

Productive summer!
I had the opportunity to work in a few coordinated regional outreach events this summer and witnessed some of the barriers being broken down between believers in our area, leaving the door open for future endeavors to be pursued.
Also have gotten involved with the Regional Heroin Task Force and seeing what opportunities open up to serve there . His blessings on your home. John
